TINHIH Foundation and Rebel Recovery Community present the 6th Annual Black Monday Public Education Forum on Monday, February 11, 2019 to help raise awareness of the opioid epidemic impacting our community. The event will be held in the Main Ballroom at UNLV’s Student Union 5:00pm-8:30pm.

In the last five years, TINHIH has become a leader in the recovery community as well as a vocal advocate for sustainable recovery programs at the local, state and federal level. TINHIH’s long term objective is to become the very first opioid-specific recovery support provider. TINHIH’s banner achievement is the creation of CCSD’s Mission High School in downtown Las Vegas which opened in the Fall of 2017. Mission High School is recognized as the first entirely public-funded, recovery-focused school of its kind in the nation.

This free, public event is TINHIH's signature event in which we bring together leaders from the hotel, medical, education, media and local government sectors. We celebrate those who have overcome their addiction, memorialize those we have lost and honor those who are still in the throes of addiction. A carnation wall is constructed, a celebration of life video plays at the end and there will be over 20 facilities presenting at the recovery resource fair. The key note for the symposium is Ryan Leaf, an ex-college, NFL player who has turned his life around with recovery. A very compelling story of overcoming addiction!

Overdose prevention and harm reduction trainings are on the schedule this year. LV Fire & Rescue and So. NV Health Department will be onsite facilitating these free trainings. Registration is first come first serve.

During the event, there will also be food, music and an opportunity drawing. Please plan on attending this very moving and family friendly event. There is no hero in heroin, only those who overcome!
